About Undiplomatic

Welcome to Undiplomatic, a new blog dedicated to covering the intersection of diplomacy, global issues, U.S. politics, and pop-culture.  We have an off-kilter (and left-of-center) view of the world, and as our name implies, we are dedicated to rooting out spin, diplospeak, and other forms of nonsense.

To learn more about our philosophy, please go here.

To find out more about our contributors, please go here.

If we do our jobs right, we’ll get you thinking, arguing, and — maybe — even laughing about a whole range of issues.  We’ll be unhindered, uninhibited and definitely undiplomatic.  Enjoy the ride, join in the conversation, and for crying out loud already, start spreading the word…

    Hello Charlie,

I literally stumbled across your blog, and intend to add it to my “diplomacy links.” I thought you might be interested in this, given your Obama coverage:

I just read your comments about lack of chemistry between McCain and Palin and I agree. In fact, I find it absolutely striking. At point when McCain joined her on stage, Palin a a look on her face of pure DISLIKE for McCain. That said, the last few days have been rocky for her, to say the least. Can you image McCain’s reaction when he found out about her daughter - and anyone who thinks he knew BEFORE is kidding themselves. There is NO WAY he would have put her on the ticket. Last night Palin showed that she has WOW factor, whether you agree or disagree with her on issues. If she’s given a line, she can deliver it effectively. And she’s got the Christian right fired up - not good for Democrats!
